Lufthansa Technical Training

The first day of LTT is full of excitment for us. Why? Simply because we will be exposed to a whole semester of training and not the usual lectures and tutorials we have been going through. We are exposed to more hands on experience during the duration of the training. This is beneficial to us as we can apply what we learn during theory lessons and put good use during practical lessons and allow us to explore the possibilities of solving our own problems if faced.

During our stay in Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT), we will learn the tecnical skills required to repair and maintainance aircrafts. This is the basic training we are required to fufuil and we are very fortunate to be students of Temasek Polytechnic (TP) as LTT set up in TP and students get to enjoy the best facilities and learning environment to trigger our thoughts.

Here let me show you guys some photos of what facilities LTT have got to offer!!!

We have the tools store for students to borrow required tools for our projects! All tools and materials are the actual stuffs used on the aircraft too! For example, the Hi-Loks, Helicoils etc are the same installed on the aircraft!

This is the electrical room for students to learn about electrical cables and wires!

We have a riveting shop for students to do riveting as the noise produced while doing riveting is great! So students doing it in the shop will reduce the noise greatly so as not to distract other students!

There is a composite shop for students to do composite repair just like the real deal done to the aircraft!!!

We have 12 work benches and each bench is installed with 6 vice clamp and are fully equiped with 4 drawers of tools!!!

A bench saw to saw awkward shapes!

2 bending machines to do bending exercises and projects!

Shearing machine to cut off materials!

Hand washing time!!! 5 taps fully equiped with soap for removal of dirt after work!

Feeling thirsty?!? Fear not! There's even a water cooler for students to enjoy!

We are environmentally friendly too! These 2 bins are for scrap materials to recycle!

Ain't we fortunate being part of the LTT program? I personally did not regret at all choosing the Aerospace Engineering Option!

By the end of the training, this will be the projects that we have done! This are the projects done by the last batch of LTT students and we will be doing the same too!
